Lessons From Ballot Initiative Campaigns: Building a Path to Victory

Continuing our exploration of "Pathways to Victory," this month's statewide meeting will take a closer look at the people, strategies, and lessons behind ballot initiative campaigns.

Every ballot initiative has a story behind it, and every campaign has lessons to teach.

Join us for Lessons from Ballot Initiative Campaigns, a panel discussion featuring leaders who have worked on major ballot initiative campaigns in Ohio, as well as Michigan's Ranked Choice Voting movement. They'll reflect on what it took to launch their campaigns, the biggest challenges they faced, the lessons they learned along the way, and the advice they'd offer organizations hoping to bring about change through a ballot initiative.

Some campaigns achieved their goals. Others faced setbacks. All provide valuable insights into what it takes to build a movement, engage supporters, and turn an idea into action.

Our panelists include:

  • Catherine Turcer, Common Cause Ohio
  • Lauren Blauvelt, Ohioans United for Reproductive Rights (Reproductive Freedom Amendment)
  • Molly Martin, PBCLE (People's Budget Cleveland)
  • Kyle Bailey, Rank MI Vote

Whether you're interested in ballot initiatives, grassroots organizing, or what it might take to one day bring Ranked Choice Voting to Ohio voters, this discussion will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the strategies, challenges, and lessons that shape campaigns for change.

Bring your questions. We'll wrap up the evening with audience Q&A.
