Sign to Oppose SB 63 and Protect Home Rule for Ohio Communities

Regardless of how we feel about Ranked Choice Voting, we are opposed to SB 63 violating Local Home Rule. Ohio's charter cities have a constitutional right to decide for themselves if RCV or other election methods are more appropriate for our communities than pick-one, plurality-wins elections. Big government should not unfairly punish communities if we choose to achieve majority rule through Instant Runoffs with RCVPlease sign below to protect Ohio communities' right to Home Rule. If you'd like us to continue to update you on the bill, please do not uncheck your email below.

    Hello,

Please vote against SB63. It denies local governments from implementing Ranked Choice Voting.

    1. The bill limits people’s freedoms. Let me repeat that. The bill limit’s people’s freedom to choose their representatives in the manner of their choice.

    2. It is government overreach by control from above. The representatives closest to their constituents are best able to make decisions for them.

    3. The bill goes against the principle of Home Rule. Home Rule being the implementation of point number 2.

    4. The arguments against Ranked Choice Voting are spurious. Whether or not RCV is complicated or difficult is best decided by the local entities, not the people looking down from above.

    Thank you,

    Rod Carroll, EE
