This proposed ban is the typical legislation we can expect from the party of “small government”. Why should the state care if cities want to try Ranked Choice Voting unless it has a chance to upend the status quo or keep them from staying in power? The state needs to remember to stay out of decisions that don’t affect it and allow the power to remain with the people.
