Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Rank the Vote Ohio! Below are some positions we need help with at this time, followed by a list of upcoming Volunteer Orientations.

If you were brought here by a text message, you can respond directly to the person who contacted you within two days with which positions you are interested in. Otherwise, you can contact [email protected] to start a conversation with a member of our onboarding team, or you can RSVP for one of the Volunteer Orientation sessions listed at the bottom of this page.

No matter which position or method of contact you choose, please remember we don't expect everyone to be an expert when they sign on. It's even okay to not know what you want to do! Our onboarding team can talk you through which kinds of roles would best fit you, as well as anything you may have questions or concerns about.

Canvasser - These are people who go to public places to spread awareness about Ranked Choice Voting. You won't be going alone, of course - we have organizers across the state who will bring along their canvassing teams! More than anything, our goal as an organization is to make sure people have heard of RCV and its benefits, so this is the most direct way to make sure we have as many supporters as we can!

Phone Banker - Once people sign up with us, we need to keep them engaged when we have something relevant to tell them about, such as upcoming meetings, and these are the people who manage the calls and texts to do just that! We take care of our contact team - we don't make cold calls as a matter of policy, and we prefer for our volunteers to use their contact experiences to establish a rapport with the people they connect with.

Speaker - Presenters at events both large and small!  If you want to champion our cause in front of audiences, we have a spot for you!  Because of the high-profile nature of the position, before we send people to speak we make sure they can flow through a provided presentation.

Fundraising Specialist - We are reliant on donors to fund everything from our event entry fees to our software licenses, to say nothing of the costs of competing for space on the airwaves when our signature-gathering and ballot initiative campaigns start. These volunteers play an ever-appreciated role in keeping us afloat and preparing us for the future!

Social Media Specialist - Social media is a canvassing event that never ends and has a huge audience! We have accounts on all of the major socials and are eager to reach as many people as we can! Whether via text, video, or silly captioned image, we need help generating content!

Onboarding Specialist - If you were referred here, it was probably by one of these people!  Our onboarding team contacts people who have expressed an interest in volunteering, either from our petition page or during a canvass event.  Since these are first contacts with people who could become our super-supporters, this team is looking for volunteers with a warm demeanor, an ability to see where prospects fit best, and enough knowledge of RCV to field potential questions.

Something Unique! - Sometimes what people can donate isn't necessarily time or money, but access or a specialized skill set.  For instance, if you are a graphic design professional and want to volunteer your expertise, we will gladly take you up on your offer!  Please let us know if this is something you can help with - we don't always know what we need until we hear about it!
