Sign to Oppose SB 137 and Protect Home Rule for Ohio Communities

Regardless of how local leaders feel about Ranked Choice Voting, we are opposed to SB 137's violation of Local Home Rule. Ohio localities should be allowed to decide for themselves if RCV or other election methods are more appropriate for our communities than pick-one, plurality-wins elections. Big government should not unfairly punish communities if we choose to achieve majority rule through RCV or other means. Please sign below to protect Ohio communities' right to Home Rule.

Dear Elected Officials, I am a citizen of Ohio and I believe SB 137 is a violation of Home Rule. Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) is used in Congressional and Presidential elections in Maine and Alaska. RCV is used in local elections in 47 different U.S. cities. It is also used by the Virginia, Utah, and Indiana Republican parties in state conventions and primaries. More choices for people on the ballot equals a potentially happier electorate. Creating opportunities for people to fully express their choices on a ballot should be encouraged not dampened. This is what makes for a healthy, participatory Democracy! Please vote No on SB 137. Thank you!
